Many visa categories require a 2 step process:

i) File a Petition with the United States Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (“BCIS”).

ii) When this is approved by BCIS, we will make an application for the visa with the appropriate foreign consulate.

Note, that if you are in the United States on a valid non-immigrant visa, and you qualify for an immigrant visa category, you may be able to apply within the United States through the “Adjustment of Status” process.
